Imphal, April 08 2010:
The NSCN has expressed confidence that the interlocuter of the Government of India, RS Pandey would convey all the facts to the Centre.
A press release issued today by the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), GPRN/NSCN stated that the recent statements issued by GOI leadership have left much to be desired.
The Prime Minister, Home Minister, Home Secretary have time and again contradicted themselves.
The press release stated that they continue to talk about giving a solution to IM under the Indian constitution while being fully aware of the futility of such arrangements.
The question of integration has been flatly rejected by GOI and rightly so because the Naga integration issue is within the parameter of Naga Sovereignty issue which our forefathers wisely understood.
Naga people have made their position clear way back on 14th August 1947 and reaffirmed on 16th May 1951 through Naga voluntary plebiscite.
The press release stated that the timely visit of RS pandey to Nagaland, a former bureaucrat and a dear friend of the Nagas, knows a thing or two about the legitimacy of Naga political struggle.
GOI must realize that the issue is between the GOI and the Nagas people and not with IM.
Nagas hope that the former bureaucrat will positively convey the ground reality to the Indian leadership.
Perhaps he understands best that he is the interlocutor for GOI only to solve IM's charter of demands and not the interlocutor for GOI on Naga Sovereignty issue.
GPRN/NSCN would like to make its position clear to the Government of India that Nagas would not be a party to any possible arrangement that GOI and IM may arrive at under the Indian constitution.
Any special constitutional provision offered to IM shall not be acceptable to the Nagas, the press release of MIP, GPRN/NSCN added.
