Protest continues against harrowing act of outraging women's modesty

Protests continued to be held at various locations today condemning the horrific act committed against two Kuki women by parading them naked.
Chandel
Anal and Maring womenfolk staged protest demonstration today at Chandel District Headquarters near St Peter School against the bestial brutality meted out to the two women.
The protest demonstration was jointly organised by Anal Sinnu Ruwl (ASR) and Maring Napuiya Yinglam (MNY) under the aegis of Naga Women Union Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion, MNY president Hoinu Charanga expressed that 'As a mother, it is heartbreaking to see such barbaric acts committed against innocent women' .

Kamjong
Public of Kamjong district, especially women folk and students, have protested against the inhumane act committed to two women in the ongoing conflict in Manipur by staging a rally on Friday.
Participated by around 1000 women, the rally started from Peace Ground, Kamjong Headquarters reached upto 8 Assam Rifles Gate and ended at where it started.
Senapati
A mass sit-in-demonstration and rally was held against the ghastly act at Senapati Bazaar today organised by the Senapati District Women Association (SDWA) under the aegis of the Naga Women's Union (NWU) .
Addressing the gathering, Asha Wungnam, President, Naga Women's Union (NWU) expressed shock and agony over the barbaric incident and urged all to respect women and to use them as a tool of violence.
The All Manipur Tribals Development Grievances Forum (AMTDGF) also condemned the barbaric act committed to tribal women on May 4 last.
In a condemnation note issued by the President of the body, Hesho Lorho stated that the act is one of the rarest of heinous crimes committed in a civilized society and the perpetrators of the crime should not be spared and capital punishment must be awarded.
It also mentioned that the State Government should be held accountable for the crime and inaction of the Chief Minister of Manipur and Police Station concerned where no action has been taken till date is condemnable.
The Rongmei Lu Pham (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) and the Rongmei Naga Luh Pham, Manipur in separate press notes also denounced the heinous crime committed to the two women by the mob.
Reacting strongly against the ghastly incident, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) and its 17 existing units have said that it has lowered the State with shame in front of the whole world.
The Union in a press note also condemned the brutal killing of Lucy Maring in strongest terms and shared the sorrow and pain of the bereaved family.
A sit-in was also staged at Saiton Bazar in Kumbi AC yesterday against the inhumane act meted out to two tribal women organised by AMAWOVA State Unit and Apunba Meira Paibi.
