Condemnations against inhumane act galore

Condemnations against the parading of two women nakedly continued to pour in from different sections of the society.
The Centre for Research and Advocacy, Manipur expressed concern over the increasing cases of violence and inhuman acts during the ethnic tensions between Meitei and Kuki people in the State.
The centre also expressed shock and condemnation against the inhuman treatment meted to the Kuki women by a mob at B Phainom village under Nongpok Sekmai police station on May 4 and other cases of killing of women during the conflict which is yet to be resolved.
The centre also went on to condemn the assault on women by Central and State's armed forces on various occasions since the outbreak of the violence and urged Union Government to take urgent steps to protect indigenous women from all forms of violence and discrimination.
It also added that the Government of India should be held accountable for failing to contain the violence for almost two and half months.
Manipur Catholic Women Organisation also condemned the May 4 incident and stated that it has brought immense shame to all women in the world.
The organisation, in a condemnation note also decried the merciless lynching of the father and a brother of the victim.
It also condemned the killing of Lucy Maring on July 15 and loss of other lives and properties due to the ongoing violence in the State.
No stones should be left unturned to ensure that justice is delivered, it added.
Rongmei Phwam Delhi (Rongmei Council Delhi NCR) also said it is deeply shocked and saddened to see the emergence of disturbing viral video and condemn the acts in the strongest terms.
Expressing solidarity with the victims, the council also urged the State Government to book the perpetrators and ensure justice is delivered.
It also prayed for speedy restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur.
The headman of Phungyar headquarters village, Adhivakta Parishad, Manipur, Celin Digital, Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND) Pune also condemned the dehumanising acts and demanded justice for the victims.
Expressing concern that more violence may arise if the situation remains uncontrolled, Celin Digital also asked the Central Government to work towards a possible solution at the earliest.
AMAND in a release, stated that the association convened a press meet in Pune in condemnation against the inhuman and immoral act which has brought shame to the Meitei community.
AMAND however stated that it would be wrong to consider the entire community as inhumane and barbaric.
It also appealed all to not be entirely swayed by the viral video and study the ground reality of the ongoing conflict.
AMAND also drew the attention of the Prime Minister to intervene and bring peace and normalcy at the earliest.
