Imphal, July 22 2023:
Three MLAs have lodged a complaint at Imphal police station to initiate legal action against Th Brinda of Yaiskul Janmasthan for portraying all the members of Manipur Legislative Assembly as drug dealers and tarnishing image of the state assembly in her statement made to the media.
The complaint jointly filed by MLAs Heikham Dingo (Sekmai AC), S Kunjakeshor (Patsoi) and Kh Loken (Wangoi) on July 6 sought legal action against Th Brinda under Section 200, 499 and 500 and 504 and 505 (B) of Indian Penal Code.
According to the complaint, a video of Brinda speaking in a public platform is still in social
media and the remarks she made were baseless, unfounded and concocted.
Without any evidence, Brinda spoke against incumbent MLAs, politicians and others.
Brinda even alleged that majority of the incumbent 60 MLAs indulge in illicit drug business directly or indirectly and some even invested money for the same.
Such remarks of Th Brinda not only wrongly portray Manipur Legislative Assembly and members but also tarnish image of the state assembly, the complaint said and demanded registration of FIR action against Th Brinda and punish her as per law of the land.
