Imphal, July 22 2023:
The Coordination Committee (CorCom) strongly condemned the inhuman parading of two innocent women and appealed to all the communities of Manipur to let sanity prevail and stop targeting innocent people.
The CorCom, a conglomerate of proscribed groups operating in Manipur, also appealed to the people to defend the unity of Manipur (Kangleipak) as one.
According to a CorCom statement issued by its publicity committee, the people of Manipur (Kangleipak) are drawn helplessly into the vortex of a proxy war for more than two and half months, which is quite saddening.
This proxy war is carefully designed by the Indian suppressive rule so that the genuine struggle for the sovereignty and Independence of Manipur (Kangleipak) is lost in a murky communal conflict and hence can be subdued easily with sheer military power.
The present proxy war is the fallout of forced annexation of Manipur (Kangleipak) and imposition of the Constitution of India, which is alien and divisive to the people of Manipur (Kangleipak) .
Subsequently, the suppressive rulers are playing 'Divide and Destroy' policy amongst the ethnic people of Manipur (Kangleipak) as well as its adjoining region which is wreaking havoc on the lives of the people, the CorCom said.
As the present conflict, drags on, unfortunately, the people of Manipur (Kangleipak) are in the death-trap of Hate Game plotted by India and its henchmen.
As a result, many innocent people especially women and children are becoming the inevitable victim of Hate Crime in this proxy war, the CorCom said.
"CoRCom condemns the inhuman parading of two innocent women and all forms of these hate crimes and obliges to punish the perpetrators," the statement said.
It further stated that people of Manipur are fighting to regain lost sovereignty so as to have self-rule and Constitution, which will safeguard and fulfil the aspirations of all the ethnic groups of Manipur (Kangleipak).
Moreover, the people are also fighting all the elements both internal and external, who challenge the integrity and sovereignty of Manipur (Kangleipak) .
The CorCom called upon all the warriiig groups to respect Universal Human Rights ana stop destroying the lives and properties of innocent people of all sides and urged the Meeteis to stop targeting innocent people of other communities in the valley and the Kukis to stop harassing innocent people of other communities in hill areas especially in Kangpokpi and Moreh.
