Govt urged to trace missing students, phone traced in Lamdan

Students' Union of TG Higher Secondary School has raised demand for locating the whereabouts of two missing students, including a girl, who disappeared on July 6 .
The missing girl is a student of TG Higher Secondary School, and the boy a student of Kindergarten Montessori School, Takyel.
Failure to trace the duo is causing distress and concern among their families and the community.
In a press conference held at TG Higher Sec -ondary School on Saturday, School's students' union general secretary Manshi Sagolsem, urged the authorities to take swift action to trace the missing duo.
The last sighting of the two students was reported when they were seen together riding a motorcycle from Keishampat around 8.15 am on July 6.CCTV footage captured their last visuals at Nambol.
As per reliable sources, police investigation indicates that the girl's mobile phone call record was last traced to Kwakta in Bishnupur district, after which it has been switched off mode.
On the other hand, the missing boy's mobile phone is currently in use with a new SIM card registered under the name of a Kuki man with location of the phone showing Lamdan village in Churachandpur district.
Despite the police station concerned being informed about the missing students, there has been no significant progress in locating them.
This has deepened concern of their families and students of TG Higher Secondary School.
In light of this distressing situation, the Students' Union sought immediate intervention from the state government to solve the missing persons' case promptly.
The union cautioned that if the two are not traced and safely returned to their families by July 30, they will collaborate with other student organisations to launch intense and extensive agitations.
The objective is to draw attention to the urgency of finding the missing Students and to ensure their safe return, bringing relief to their concerned families and friends, the secretary said.
