Imphal, July 22 2023:
Hindu religious leaders appealed to the people of Manipur to help restore peace and normalcy in the state.
In a statement, the religious leaders said that efforts should be made to prevent occurrence of any violent incidents in India, a country which taught the world the principle of non-violence.
The epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata, have shown that no country/ kingdom fared well from violence.
The conflict between the two communities in Manipur, who have been living together since time immemorial, due to differences of opinion, would not benefit our future generations in any way.
The leaders of both communities should carefully contemplate whether the conflict should have occurred in the first place.
There is no pride in attacking each other and damaging public properties.
Thus, the people of Manipur should abandon the road of violence and strive to resolve all misunderstandings to bring about an amicable solution.
It should be remembered that by fighting amongst ourselves, we are only maldng the enemy stronger, they cautioned and appealed to all concerned to work together for the welfare of the state and its people.
