Kpi/Spi, November 08 2023:
Accusing two social media handles of circulating unfounded allegations dragging Makhan village into the disappearance of two Meitei teenage boys on November 5, the Makhan (Makhen) Village Authority has demanded a rectification from the individuals concerned along with an apology within 24 hours.
A press release issued by Ab Amang, chairman, Makhan Village Authority asserted that they have solid proof and confirmation at their disposal that one X (formerly Twitter) handle named "Separation Only Solution" (posted the allegation on 11.26 pm of November 7) and one Instagram account named "Farewell Manipur" are circulating the allegations.
Maintaining that such false accusation tarnishes the name of the village and it will not be tolerated, the Makhan Village Authority has given the concerned social media handles 24 hours to issue a clarification and an apology.
In the event of failing to do so within the given time frame, the Makhan Village Authority will resort to democratic yet stringent steps that might indefinitely hamper or restrict any movement of people or vehicles in and around the Makhan village and territory with or without notice, said the statement.
Further, terming the false allegation as an act of "aggression and war not only on Makhan village but the Nagas as a whole", the village authority said it will bear no responsibility for any eventualities that might arise.
Makhan Village Authority added that it holds no allegiance to either of the conflicting groups and cautioned against mistaking their meekness for weakness.
