SFs arrest two KNA cadres in Moreh

Combined teams of state and central forces apprehended two cadres of the armed Kuki National Army (KNA) during an operation carried out Moreh town area on Wednesday.
The arrested cadres have been identified as the outfit's lance corporal Seikholun Vaiphei (35) s/o Thangpao Vaiphei of Zion Veng, Tuinom Part-4, Moreh and Luphou Otminlal Hangmi (19) s/o Letngam Luphou Hangmi of Yangoupokpi village, Moreh.
According to a police report, a joint team of Special CDO, Moreh CDO, Thoubal CDO, Kakching CDO, 5IRB, 5AR, 181/BSF, 156/BSF and 192/BSF stationed at Moreh, conducted search operations in surrounding villages of Moreh town such as JH Vajang, Haolemkhopi, ST Moullenphai and Yangoupokpi, from 1pm Wednesday.
At around 3 pm, the team started searching the hilly terrain and river bank at Yangoupokpi village, when they detained two people, who were behaving in suspicious manner for verification.
Upon verification, the two people were found to be cadres of KNA, working under the outfit s self-style lieutenant Lunmang Haokip alias Mamang.
Seikholun Vaiphei disclosed that he joined KNA in October, 2004 and was trained as part of the 22nd batch at Minou, Moreh near the AR camp.
The team recovered one Aadhaar card, driving licence, PMJAY card, one Realme hand set with one Airtel SIM card and one Myanmar SIM card, along with one unregistered red colour Jupiter scooter from his possession.
The team also recovered a One Plus mobile handset with one Airtel and one Myanmar SIM cards from Lupho Otminlal Hangmi's possession Both were arrested from the location at around 4.30 pm and handed over to Moreh PS for further legal action, the report conveyed.
