Imphal, November 11 2023:
RPI-A national secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam has called upon the people of the state to observe a light-off solidarity campaign on the day of Diwali from 6 pm to 6.10 pm as a mark of solidarity to the sufferings of the displaced people and to show the world that the state is still burning for more than six months.
He made the appeal in a press meet held at his Keishampat house, here on Saturday.
He said that there is no sight of end to the crisis and the indigenous people of the state are living like a refugee in their own home state, the government has, so far, been unable to seize the sophisticated arms from the hands of the Kuki militants, with which they keep attacking the foothill villages.
Even as the state continues to burn for more than six months, the national media landscape is showing election and sports.
The Central government has also failed to take action against the terror activities of the Kuki militants despite sending nearly one lakh central security forces, he said while urging all to observe the solidarity on the day of Diwali and show the world that Manipur is still burning.
