Aid continues to pour in to relief camps

Romi Bag Industries in association with All Manipur Footwear and Leather Development Association distributed sweaters and shoes to conflict survivors taking refuge in various relief camps to help in alleviating their inconveniences this winter.
For today, the distribution drive was held at relief camps of Kalyan Ashram, Old Age Home, Konggoi Community hall and KMC in Kakching district.
In connection with the distribution drive, Romi Bag Industries proprietor Dhanachandra said that the distribution drive has been taken up to ease the inconveniences faced during this winter season by the conflict survivors who have been adversely affected as they have been driven out of their homes since their homes have been razed to ground or they are under the constant threat of being attacked.

He also informed that similar distribution drive has been held at relief camps of Sagoltongba, Leimaram, Phubala, Santhong, Ningthoukhong, Tera Khongsangbi etc and he assured that it will be carried out in other relief camps at different locations.
In view of the above noble gesture, Kakching Peace Committee vice-chairman, Yengkhom Nilachandra extended gratitude to Romi Bag Industries and All Manipur Footwear and Leather Development Association for taking up initiatives for the welfare of conflict survivors amid these difficult times.
He also prayed for resettlement measures for the displaced people at their respective native places and for restoration of peace and normalcy in the State.
On the other hand monetary assistance and edible items were distributed to relief camps in Khangabok Assembly Constituency yesterday under the aegis of Khangabok AC MLA, Okram Surjakumar and the District Administration Thoubal.
A team led by Khangabok Kendra Relief Camp Committee convenor Y Basanta; advisor L Subhashchandra and Ng Joy visited the relief camps at Rice Research Centre Khangabok, Wangbal and Lamding Higher Secondary and handed over the monetary assistance and essential items to the volunteers of these relief camps.
Speaking at the occasion, Y Basanta said that the distribution drive at relief camps are carried out as per the directives of the Khangabok AC MLA to address the concerns and issues of the conflict survivors regularly.
He assured that similar activities will be conducted in future as well and encouraged the displaced people to stay strong and be optimistic amid these tough times.
