Raj Medicity appeals against monetary demand

Reminding all concerned that it has been providing treatment to those injured in the ongoing crisis free of cost since the violence unfolded on May 3, Raj Medicity managing director Haobijam Rajen has appealed to all concerned to refrain from asking for unaffordable financial assistance but to allow them to function freely in helping the people.
Addressing a press meet at the conference hall of the private hospital, here, on Saturday, Rajen said that the ongoing crisis is affecting every section of the society.
Ningol Chakkouba is an important festival of the state, especially for women.
However, it would be the first in the history of Manipur that women folk are raising their voices for cancellation of celebration of the festival.
On the other hand, Raj Medicity has been providing free treatment to people who got injured trying to defend the territory of the state since the beginning and the service will continue.
So far, the hospital has provided free treatment to 354 people including 99 in need of major operations including head surgery, while 116 were discharged after providing first aid and necessary observation.
Eleven were also brought dead while five could not be saved despite the best effort.
So far, 42 individuals have donated Rs 12,30,500 in cash and six companies provided medicine and equipment worth Rs 6,98,300.However, how long will the hospital afford to provide free treatment is also becoming a big question since it has been facing a big challenge in providing the treatment, he said while urging the government to resolve the crisis through talks.
At the same time, the hospital staff have been making sacrifices by donating half of their salary towards treatment of the injured people, he said and appealed to all concerned to support the service of the hospital to the indigenous people of the state.
He also urged organisations or individuals concerned to refrain from making unaffordable monetary demand to the hospital.
