Imphal, September 27 2023:
Global Manipur Federation (GMF) has mourned the tragic death of two teenagers Hijam Linthoingambi and Phijam Hemanjit, who were reported missing since July 6.In a release, GMF demanded swift and unwavering justice for the brutal murders of these two young lives.
The brutal murder of two Meitei teenagers serves as yet another stark reminder of the relentless violence inflicted by Chin-Kuki-Zo militants and the killing has come close on the heels of inhumane killing of Irengbam Chingkheinganba and Sagolsem Nganleibaby suspected Kuki militants on July 4, the release said.
"We anxiously await the country's response to this devastating incident, mirroring the collective outrage witnessed when a heinous naked parade video emerged," the release said.
The ongoing conflict has not only shattered peace but also stripped away the most fundamental and humane act - the ability for families to bury their loved ones, it lamented, while condemning all forms of violence from both sides and further implored the Biren Singh government to take urgent action, bring an end to this turmoil and restore peace in the state.
