Foundation day celebrated; students feted

Along with celebration of the 15th foundation day of All Manipur Muslim Girl Students' Union (AMMGSU), Meitei Pangal students who scored high marks in Class X and XII examinations were felicitated at Y Academy, Hatta, here, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the programme, Wabagai AC MLA and Manipur State Pollution Control Board chairman Dr U Deben expressed concern over the prevailing restive situation in the state while noting that despite varied challenges, the government is taking up every possible measures to ensure that the academic careers of the students are not affected through reopening of educational institutions and ensuring proper education.
He also emphasised on the need for the student community and youth to shoulder the responsibility in the development of Manipur.
The programme presided over by AMMGSU president Sophia Sahania was also attended by Social Welfare director Ng Uttam, Imphal East ADM Md Shamim Ahmed Shah, WAQF Board CEO and Agriculture deputy secretary Mohd Yaser Ahmed Khan, Department of Minority Affairs deputy director Md Salaudin Khan, 1st IRB medical officer Dr Md Rakibuddin and AMMGSU advisor Ruksar Choudhury as guests of honour and AMMOCOC HQ president SM Jalal, Thambal Marik College assistant professor Dr Kh Gourachandra and MOBEDS APO Alam Azad as special guests.
Meitei Pangal students who secured high marks in Class X and XII examinations were felicitated by presenting simple gifts.
