Imphal, December 02 2023:
As part of the Way Forward' campaign launched by All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation organised a function at Kshetrigao community hall in Imphal East district on Saturday.
The function was attended by Kshetrigao Zilla Parishad member Nazarul Islam, All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation advisor Kh Yakub Ali and AMUCO secretary (organisation) K Santosh as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, K Santosh pointed out that Manipur is a place inhabited by various communities who were living in peace and harmony since time immemorial.
However, soon after Manipur merged into the Indian union in 1949, the essence of unity among the different communities gradually waned and started envisioning parochial objectives which cannot be fulfilled.
Therefore, there is the need to collectively work to achieve the 8-point demand submitted to the government of India, he said and appealed to the Meitei Muslim community to extend cooperation in the regard.
AMUCO publicity secretary Laishram Krishnachandra presented a detailed account on the 8-point memorandum submitted to the government of India.
AMUCO president Nando Luwang also addressed the gathering.
