Imphal, December 02 2023: In connection with the Golden Jubilee celebration of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU), a 1-day media sensitization programme on "Child adoption, Transgender, PM Vishwakarma and other schemes, Role of District Magistrate" was held today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.

The programme was conducted under the aegis of District Administration Imphal East.

It was attended by Imphal East Deputy Commissioner, Khumanthem Diana; AMWJU president, Bijoy Kakchingtabam; Editors' Guild Manipur president, Khogendra Khomdram as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Kh Diana called for active cooperation between the District Administration and media to bring development in the State.

She asserted that the Imphal East District Administration has been working tirelessly to spread awareness about the schemes initiated by the Government and ensure the benefits of the schemes reach the beneficiaries.

The DC also elaborated on the role of media in spreading awareness about the welfare schemes of the Government to the public.

Bijoy Kakchingtabam shared that a workshop on 'Assembly Session' will be held soon to provide more information about 'Parliamentary Reporting' to media persons.

In the technical session, resource persons Imphal East Additional DC Shamin Ahamad Shah, Imphal East Additional DC Ng Jogendra Khumancha, Imphal East Assistant Commissioner Laimayum Rita and Imphal East Assistant Commissioner N Suran delivered lectures on the topics, "Child Adoption- New Amendments in Juvenile Justice Rule & Regulations", "Transgender", "PM Vishwakarma and other schemes" and "Role of Executive Magistrates", respectively.
