MU announces Taekwondo teams for NE Zone Inter University Championships

The Department of Sports, Manipur University has announced the men's and women's teams who will be representing the university in the North East Zone Inter University Championships 2023-24 to be held at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab.
The teams as announced in office orders issued by the Department of Sports are as follows.
Women's Kyorugi : I Bijaya of TSPMWC (-46 kg), M Priyadarshini of TSPMWC (-49 kg), AK Devika of Biramangol College (-53 kg), S Charlie Devi of NG College (-57 kg), Y Abenao of N Birahari College (-62 kg), A Uttarani of NG College (U-67 kg), S Tina of TSPMWC (-73 kg) and Chinguleima of TSPMWC (+73 kg) .
Women's Poomsae : Aparna Yengkhom of Manipur University in individual poomsae; Priyadarshini M, Martina Wahengbam and I Bijaya all three of TSPMWC in group; Aparna Yengkhom of MU and Tyson Tokpam Meitei of Thambal Marik College in pair.
Men's Kyorugi : M Devjit of KP College (-54 kg), Th Dhamen of Mayai Lambi College (-58 kg), E Rakesh of Manipur University (-63 kg), Anish Saikhom of Biramangol College (-68 kg), Jetlee Chabungbam of Regional College (-74 kg) and M Premdosh of Biramangol College (-80 kg) .
Men's Poomsae : Tyson Tokpam of Thambal Marik College; and Tyson Tokpam, Jetlee Chabungbam and Raj Laishram of Standard College in group.
The men's competition will be held from December 22 to 24 while the women's competition will be held from December 26 to 28 .
The selected athletes were further instructed to report at the office of the Assistant Director of Sports, MU on December 4 at 11 am for further details.
East Zone Basketball team announced
The department also announced men's team for the East Zone Inter University Basketball tournament 2023-24 to be held at VBS Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, UP from December 16 to 20 .
The players shortlisted in the team are Uttamkumar Lousigam, Lhousivisif Meyase and Seenhen Pukhrambam of Manipur University; Shivanda Lourembam and David Thongam of MIT-Takyelpat; Doif Konjengbam, Th Bisman and Kiyamba Thiyam of Imphal College; Janus Singh and Vaskar S of Standard College; L Nikash of NG College and Achom Lenin of KP College.
Nawang Laitonjam of Standard College was also named in the reserved list.
