MCC formally announced in Thoubal

Thoubal, March 17 2024:
In accordance with announcement of the schedules for 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 by the Election Commission of India, Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been imposed in Thoubal district.
Subsequent to an order issued by Thoubal district magistrate Ahanthem Subhash, hoardings and posters showing government achievements were removed from various parts of the district on Sunday.
On the other hand, A Subhash, who is also the district election officer (DEO), on Sunday convened a meeting of political parties to discuss effective implementation of the MCC in the district.
Speaking to TPC, Subhash informed that the district has total of 2,04,520 voters and 248 polling stations.
Out of total, 1,05,262 are female, 15 transgender, 1287 persons with disabilities, 1002 over 80 years of age and 4402 newly enrolled voters, he elaborated, while appealing to the public to support the district administration in the smooth conduct-of the Lok Sabha election.
