Relief items provided to village volunteers, IDPs

Frontline Help Group on Sunday provided essentials to the village volunteers of UFO who are deployed at Sabungkhok Khunou to defend the peripheral village from aggression by armed Kukis.
In a statement, Universal Friendship Organization (UFO) Central Committee (Heipok) publicity secretary T Wanglen Meitei informed that the items received from the Group included shoes, drinking water and edible items for the volunteers.
Meanwhile, Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal on Sunday provided essential items to the IDPs staying at the Leimaram SC Girls' Hostel relief camp.
According to Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal, the items distributed included 25 'Bright' plastic buckets of 100 litre capacity each, two LPG stoves, books, toys and snacks for children.
There are 25 families from Churachandpur taking shelter in the relief camp, it mentioned, adding that the programme was attended by Club president Gopal Kshetrimayum, secretary Chingtham Deepak and other senior members.
The Club president also held discussion with the IDPs on their plight and grievances and assured to coon conduct a health check-up programme with emphasis on controlling BP, thyroid and eye ailments.
