JNIMS vows free treatment for camp inmates

Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JN IMS) will provide free treatment to inmates of relief camps who attended free medic al camps organised by the institute and require further treatment, stated director professor L Deben.
Declaring this during a free medic al camp jointly organised by JNIMS and Taragi Cheisu at the violence-hit Phougakchao Ikhai Makha Leikai in Bishnupur district on Sunday, professor L Deben informed that JNIMS hospital in coordination with Taragi Cheisu has been conducting series of free medical camps in areas badly hit by the violence which erupted on May 3 last.
Inmates of relief camps who attended free medical camps will be given free treatment at JNIMS hospital, if required, he reiterated, adding that JNIMS hospital and Taragi Cheisu are coordinating in providing free treatment to the displaced people living in relief camps.
According to professor L Deben, Taragi Cheisu is giving special emphasis and taking up various steps for providing education to violence-hit children apart from ensuring medical care and as such anyone in need may contact Taragi Cheisu.
Regarding the free medical camp, Taragi Cheisu secretary and JNIMS ENT department head professor Dhakeshwar said that it is a non-political organisation formed by like-minded people working in different fields with the stated objective to do something good for the society.
The organisation has no link whatsoever with any politician or political party and has been conducting free medical camps at different places of the state affected by the ethnic violence every week.
Apart from medical help, legal experts of the organisation are providing legal awareness to violence hit people while volunteers and members of the organisation even contribute money for the suffering people when required for legal challenge, he added.
According to professor Dhakeshwar, agricultural experts of Taragi Cheisu also provide agricultural inputs and Nano fertilizer to violence hit people interested in taking up agricultural activities.
He said that the organisation will continue to conduct free medical camps at violence hit areas and anyone requiring help may contact the organisation.
