Epaan Thaba of newly borns at relief camp performed

Epaan Thaba (Swasti) rituals of six babies including twins born to five women at Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel relief camp were celebrated today.
The dedicated relief camp for pregnant women survivors of the present ethnic conflict was opened on May 21 .
The Youth Hostel had a total of 131 pregnant women when the camp started.
Of the 131 expecting mothers, 103 of them have delivered babies.
Four women have delivered twins.
In charge of the camp, BJP OBC Morcha State Unit president RK Nongdrenkhomba told reporters that the pregnant women and the new mothers staying at the camp are provided all kinds of medical care and attention, borne by the BJP State unit.
After babies are born, ritual ceremonies are held according to their beliefs and faith, he said.
He urged pregnant women staying in other relief camps to shift to the dedicated camp and avail the benefits.
