Imphal, January 17 2024:
Apart from cautioning that no un-recognised private schools should run from the next academic session commencing from February 12, Federal Students' Organisation.
Kangleipak (FESOK) has appealed to founders and principals of private schools to abide by its decision.
FESOK president Ronald Kennedy Longjam told media persons on Wednesday that a decision to halt operation of un-recognised private schools was taken by the students' body last year with authorities of both BSEM and COHSEM urged to look into the matter and stop the operation of un-recognised private schools in the state.
While appealing to school founders to stop considering students as customers of their business, Ronald observed that there is no harm if any private school functions after getting recognition.
However, many schools which lure students with financial incentives prior to grant of recognition have cropped up thereby signifying that meritorious students are being used as tradable commodities, he said, adding that scores of students have faced serious inconvenience after studying at un-recognised private schools.
He then urged parents to stop admitting their children to un-recognised private schools.
