Police rescued homeless man dies

Imphal, April 05 2024:
A homeless man, who was found in poor health condition at Sekmai Koujengleima, died despite provision of medical treatment at CHC on Wednesday.
In a release, Sekmai police station officer in-charge said that information about a homeless man who identified himself as Thokchom Rajesh (54) son of Th Puina lying in very poor health condition at Sekmai Koujengleima was received on March 29 and subsequently picked up by Sekmai police.
He was admitted to CHC Sekmai for treatment.
Unfortunately, on April 3, he passed away at the health centre.
In light of the incident, an unnatural death case has been registered for investigation and the body deposited at RIMS morgue.
The body will be disposed of as per the law if no one comes to claim it within April 8.The height of the deceased person is around 5.2 ft, with oval shape face, black and short hair and slim body.
He was found wearing a full jogging shirt grey colour with red strap, olive green full-sleeve shirt, one inner white shirt, black short pants and one bracelet steel colour, it added.
