Imphal, April 05 2024: The Hun-Thadou Cultural F estival Organizing Committee (HFOC)will be observing the6th State-level Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2024 on Apri 17, 2024 in New Delhi with the theme "Solidarity and Brotherhood" .

In a release, HFOC informed that the festival will be attended by Awangbou Newmai, Minister (Water Resources and Relief & Disaster Management), Manipur; Lalhmachhuana.

president Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA); H Lalthianghlima, president Mizo Zirlai Pawl, General Headquarters (MZP-GHQ) and Dr Seiboi Singsit, former PCCF & HoFF, Government of Manipur as presidium members.

Unlike the preceding years, Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2024 will be observed in a solemn and sombre manner in solidarity with innocent victims of the ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur.

The function will be marked by formal discussion of the current situation of the Thadou people in specific and the people of Manipur in general.

The day will also be observed as 'Assertion Day' of the uniqueness of the Thadou tribe by the Thadou people, which concur with the motto of Hun, "My Culture, My Identity".

"The HFOC would also like to make it clear that the observance of the occasion is in no Way to be taken as taunting the sentiments of the people, but rather in solidarity, as the theme 'Solidarity and Brotherhood' reflects", it concluded.
