Discussion on present conflict conducted

A discussion on 'Resolution to Conflict in Manipur' was conducted by Indigenous People's Organisation (IPO), Manipur and Federation of Civil Society Organisation, Manipur at Yangoiningthou community hall, Bishnupur on Friday.
The programme was attended by Kumbi College associate professor L Gopal and Ningthoukhong Meira Paibi lup's RK Leima as presidium members, while IPO secretary Rakesh Moirangthem was the resource person.
In his address, IPO Manipur vice president Chandramani Khumancha expressed serious concern that the Kukis who came as refugees are now attacking indigenous Meetei community.
People of the district have been restricting movement of central security forces as they have failed to provide security to the public, he alleged.
The discussion resolved that the armed groups fighting for independence of Manipur should hold peace talks with central and state governments to bring solution to the conflict and to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
