Licypriya holds talks with European Parliament members in Brussels

12-year old Indian climate and environmental activist Licypriya Kangujam held talks with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) today in Brussels on the ongoing turmoil in Manipur.
She also spoke about the threat of climate change and wars to children.
According to a statement, Licypriya Kangujam held closed door meetings with a few MEPs who raised the issue of Manipur violence recently at the European Parliament to clarify each point they had tabled recently.
She pointed out that they have been misguided by a 'one-sided story of the people who are involved in narco-terrorism' .
The climate activist is currently on an official three-Nation European visit.
She also said that the Government is taking steps to maintain peace and harmony and law and order in Manipur.
Reportedly, the young environmental activist is providing free education to children who lost their parents in the ongoing violence.
"Over 35,000 children are currently out of school since May 3.Over 100,000 people have become homeless and over 200 people killed and hundreds of people still missing.
Recently two students namely Linthoingambi and Hemanjit were brutally murdered by the Kuki terrorists.
I want justice for them.
I want Justice for Manipur", she stated.
Maintaining that Meiteis are also one of the minority tribal communities of India she alleged that there is no Anglo-Kuki War in the history of the world.
She further stressed that the ongoing Manipur violence is not a fight between a majority and minority community or between Meitei Hindu or minority Christian, it is a fight between two tribes, she said.
She also appealed to the leaders of the European Union to support in her fight for climate justice in the global south and also to support in her ongoing campaign to build a free residential school for the victims children in the ongoing violence.
