IDPs in dire need of winter cloths

In an effort to support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), 100 blankets were distributed across six relief camps in Kakching and Bishnupur districts as part of an initiative led by Facebook group Backpackers and Travellers India (BATI) in collaboration with Prashraya Welfare Foundation (Team Aashraya), a youth-led Section 8 registered Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs).
The blankets were distributed at relief camps set up at Nungoo Khongyam Primary School, Chairel Government Junior High School, Tangjeng Khunjao community hall and Mangjing Youth Development Association in Kakching district, and Chairel Mangjing community hall, and Thangalawai Awang Leikai Khongnang Makhong in Bishnupur district Shyam Lourembam, a member, said that BATI is a Facebook group that assists fellow travellers by providing information about places.
Priyanshu Khemariya, also a member, initiated the idea of helping those affected in the strife-torn Manipur.
Consequently, Khemariya, the founder and president of Aashraya, along withHimadri Deka and Sahin, Aashraya's state coordinators of Assam, facilitated the donation of 100 blankets for the IDPs living in the relief camps.
Ringo Pebam, who played a vital role in identifying the relief camps, highlighted the urgent need for winter clothes among the IDPs.
Ringo said that the IDPs living in the relief camps are in dire need of winter clothes and urged anyone willing to donate used but in good condition clothes to contact him though his phone number 7005166297 in the next four days, as he is planning to visit the camps again.
