Imphal, January 11 2024:
All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) has cautioned all drug abusers and dealers to confess to their wrongdoings within 72 hours.
Issuing a press release in this regard, AMMDC vice president Abbas Khan said that Manipur, which is considered a mini-India, has been ravaged by drug menace.
Many future pillars of the society have been ruined by drugs because of the vested interests of some people, not to mention of the prevailing conflict and misunderstandings amongst the communities.
As such, he cautioned members of the Meitei Pangal community, who are abusing or dealing in drugs, to come to AMMDC headquarters and surrender themselves within 72 hours.
If the person(s) involved ignore the advisory, then the Committee will make their names, family and other particulars public.
Additionally, strict action will be taken up against them along with like-minded clubs, organisations, religious leaders and CSOs.
By abusing and dealing drugs, they have become enemies of the public, he said, and appealed to all communities for concerted efforts in putting an end to drug menace in the state.
