Bishnupur, January 11 2024:
Sangeet Kala Mandir, Nambol has accused Bishnupur District Cooperative Officer (DCO) of violating certain set of rules and regulations of the Kala Mandir which was set up in 1923 and taking up activities according to his own sweet will.
Addressing media persons at Nambol Awang community hall, Thursday, Sangeet Kala Mandir, Nambol former secretary H Arunjit said that subsequent to expiry of term of the committee of cultural organisation, the DCO issued an order for conduct of election/nomination process in compliance of which a 15-member committee was elected.
However, despite the existence of the committee, the DCO issued another order for forming a new committee which is against all existing rules and regulations of the Sangeet Kala Mandir.
He further informed that even as an attempt was made to constitute a new managing committee along with electing 15 members, the DCO called a meeting at his office.
Soon after the meeting was called, the DCO got retired and a new DCO was posted.
As things were expected to be going along the right path, the new DCO constituted a seven-member interim committee defying all norms.
All such unwanted developments tantamount to attempt for permanent cessation of the Sangeet Kala Mandir, Nambol.
An RTI was filed but no reply has been received so far, Arunjit said, while cautioning that in case such attempts continue, legal actions will be sought and actions initiated against the DCO in addition to launching agitations.
