SBI RM calls on Governor

State Bank of India (SBI), Imphal Regional Manager Okendra Singh Khumukcham called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan today and talked about the steps taken up by the bank to extend assistance to the violence affected, displaced people staying in relief camps.
He said, SBI has started distribution of loan under 'One Family, One Livelihood' scheme of the State Government and identification for providing further assistance to the violence affected families has also been conducted with the help of district administrations.
Staffs have been deputed and sent to the relief camps to collect mobile numbers, Aadhaar card etc for customers who have lost bank documents to re-enactivate it.

SBI donated Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and it has been trying to provide all possible assistance to the displaced people in relief camps, Okendra said.
He also thanked the Governor for her efforts to extend assistance to the displaced people and toward restoration of peace and normalcy in the State.
The Governor asked the banker to provide all possible assistance to the displaced people staying in relief camps, both in hills and valley.
She appreciated the banker for their announcement of 12-month moratorium on payment of interest for loans taken by its customers in Manipur.
Loans under PM MUDRA, Start-Ups etc should be provided so that the displaced people can at least start their own business for sustainability and income generation, she added.
A team of India Post led by Lukhram Radheshyam Singh, Postmaster, along with five others also called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and apprised Anusuiya Uikey about the initiative taken up by India Post for the displaced people staying in relief camps in the State.
The team informed the Governor about the difficulties/inconveniences faced in the delivery of mails/dak in many places given the prevailing situation and their efforts to deliver the mails/parcels in the best interest of the people.
They said, re-enactment of India Post Payment Bank passbooks has been started for those who have lost or burnt it.
The Governor while asking them to visit relief camps and enquire about the requirements of displaced people on matters related to India Post, said, all possible assistance should be extended to the displaced people after finding out their requirements.
She asked the team to write to the Deputy Commissioners so that the requirements and identity of those who are in need of services of India Post can be ascertained and further steps can be taken up.
