MLA Joykishan adopts displaced family with ailing member

Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykishan has adopted a displaced family from Churachandpur district with an ailing member, whose house has been razed to the ground and properties looted by the Kukis on May 3.Khoisnam Binasakhi, the ailing member of the displaced family, was undergoing treatment for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in Guwahati when the violence, spearheaded by JXLF with active support from Kuki militants under SoO agreement, began from Churachandpur district on May 3.According to her son Rabindranath, they were in Guwahati when the violence broke out and all their properties have been stolen before burning their house by the Kuki mob.
With nowhere to return, they stayed in Guwahati for nearly three months with support from Meeteis in Guwahati.
After returning to Imphal, they had to admit his mother at JNIMS as her condition worsen, he said.
He also thanked MLA Joykishan for his assurance of adopting the family and expressed hope that other public representatives will also find displaced families and help them in this desperate situation.
MLA Joykishan visited JNIMS hospital and met the ailing woman while encouraging her.
Interacting with media, the MLA said that Binasakhi needs a medicine that cost Rs 2,000 on daily basis apart from other medicines and expenses.
Upon hearing of the family's situation, he took the decision to help them until her recovery after consulting with Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation and BJP Thangmeiband Mandal office bearers.
Other members of her family will be lodged in a relief camp, he said and added that TKDO and BJP Thangmeiband Mandal has opened a relief camp for students where free coaching classes will be given from class 5 to 10 .
