Mass silent sit in protest blocks highway in Thoubal, Kakching

Demanding ending of the present conflict at the earliest, Thoubal and Kakching Apunba Lup (TAKDAL) organised mass silent sit-in protests in Thoubal and Kakching districts wherein womenfolk sat along the national highway blocking the road in different areas for few hours from 11 am to 1pm on Thursday.
Local meira paibis and clubs supporting TAKDAL staged sit-in protest demonstrations at Thoubal Melaground, Yairipok Lamkhai, Wangjing, Lamding Keithel, Khangabok High School Mamang, Athokpam, Khangabok Bazar, Samaram Lamkhai, Sapam, Khongjom Bazar, Papal Lamkhai, Langthabal Khunou, Thoubal Haokha, Babu Bazar, Yairipok Bishnunaha Mayai Leikai Leirak, Bishnunaha Mayai Leikai Kongbam Leirak, Thoubal Wangkhem, Yairipok Huidrom Leikai and Yairipok Keithel Traffic Island.
Similar protests were also staged at Kakching Lamkhai, Kakching Sumak Leikai, Kakching Keithel, Keirak Dam Makhong, Laimanai Lamkhai, Kiyam Siphai, Haokha and Thoubal Khunou among others.
The protestors held placards inscribed with 'Bring immediate solution to Manipur crisis by Prime Minister', 'Withdraw Suspension of Operation, 'Withdraw Assam Rifles', 'Resettle displaced people', 'Stop narco-terrorism', 'Save reserved and protected forest', 'No separate administration in Manipur' and 'Dear Prime Minister, we are dying to listen to your Mann Ki Baat on Manipur violence' among others.
Speaking in this regard, TAKDAL convenor Walk horn Jotinkumar lamented that several lives have been lost, properties destroyed and displaced people by the ethnic clashes that broke out on May 3.Though the people are facing tremendous inconveniences, the state government and the centre seem to remain deaf and blind.
Recalling the demand to the state government for convening a special assembly session and adopt a firm resolution for the future of Manipur so as to discuss it in the ongoing parliament which will adjourn on Friday, he denounced that the state government disregarded the demands of the people.
The silence of PM Narendra Modi on the present crisis and the failure to end the Conflict reflected that he (Narendra Modi) considers the people of Manipur as third class citizens, he contended.
He further urged PM Narendra Modi to speak the facts about the present unrest in the parliament and demanded to end the conflict so as to restore peace and normalcy.
