Imphal, August 10 2023:
Manipur State Coun-cil/Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) has condemned the statement of Home Minister Amit Shah, who said that CM N Biren has not been not replaced as he is cooperating with the centre.
In a release, MSC/CPI secretary L Thoiren said that statement of Amit Shah confirmed that state arid central governments led by BJP failed to solve the crisis in the state.
It is unfortunate that Amit Shah depicted CM N Biren as if he (Biren) took initiative to end the conflict.
The CM already saw the videos of brutal killing innocent people and the attempts to make mass burial for 35 slain Kuki militants.
Yet, CM N Biren remained as a silent spectator, he denounced.
While lauding HM Amit Shah for his statement in the parliament acknowledging that the crisis in the state broke out because of illegal immigration of Kukis from Myanmar due to the crackdown by the military junta in the neighbouring country, he said that it proved that there is no information about the matter from Union State Minister for External Affairs Dr Rk Ranjan as there is no talk with Myanmar for the last three months of crisis.
It shows that Dr Ranjan is not a Manipuri and the numerous memorandum send by political parties and CSOs remain untouched, it added.
He recalled that extended state council meeting held at Irawat Bhavan resolved to work tirelessly for bringing peace and normalcy in the state.
It further paid-respect to those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for protecting the integrity of Manipur and also to the brave the womenfolk of the land.
