JAC formed in connection with gruesome killing of 3 Meitei civilians at Kwakta

Bishnupur, August 10 2023:
A Joint Action Committee has been constituted in connection with the gruesome killing of three Meitei civilians by Kuki militants in their homes at Kwakta Municipal Council Ward No 8 on August 5 .
Putting forth a list of demands, the JAC against the brutal killing of Y Pishak, Y Premkumar and Y Jiten has cautioned to launch intense agitations if their demands are not met by 3 pm of August 16 .
This was informed by K Padamo Devi, chairman, JAC, during a public meeting held at Terakhongshangbi Mayai Leikai Community Hall.
According to the JAC chairman, some of the demands/resolutions raised by the JAC in consultation with public include transfer of the triple murder case to CBI, deployment of adequate State forces in Torbung and surrounding areas and resettlement of those who have fled from Torbung GP to their respective homes.
It may be noted that with the formation of the JAC, M Robindro was appointed as the convenor, Kh Ratan Meitei as the co-convenor and Th Ramesh, Th Abung and K Kishan in charge of publicity.
Late Y Jiten's wife and mother as well as (L) Y Pishak's children were also in attendance.
