Humanitarian aid extended

Central Agricultural University, Imphal and Manipur Seva Samiti today jointly provided relief materials to the shelter camp set up in Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Skill Development Centre in Haraorou village, Imphal East district.
Members of CAU and Manipur Seva Samiti visited the shelter camp and handed over the relief materials during a simple function held there.
Notably, about 100 displaced families are currently taking refuge at the shelter camp.
The event was attended by CAU Vice Chancellor, Dr Anupam Mishra; College of Agriculture, CAU, Dean, Prof Indira Sarangthem; Seva Bharati Haraurou trustees L Jatra, Shijagurumayum Tarunkumar; Swami Kadd Sideshwaor from Maharashtra and Swami Jyag Vallabh among others.

Meanwhile, volunteers of Chingamakha Khongnang Meira have extended monetary assistance to Hijam Shankar from Khurai Kongpal Ningthoubung Leikai who sustained grievous injuries at the Khamenlok incident on the intervening night of June 13 and 14 .
Due to the family's poor economic condition, Hijam Shankar has been unable to get the surgery necessary to remove the bullet and bomb shrapnel lodged in his body in many places despite doctor's advice to get the operation at the earliest.
Handing over the sum to Hijam Chandrasen, father of the injured, Naorem Ongbi Tanou, member Chingamakha Khongnang Meira lauded Hijam Shankar's efforts to protect his motherland.
She also urged the State Government to extend financial assistance to help him get all necessary medical treatment and wished him a speedy recovery.
