Imphal, August 10 2023:
CPI has alleged that the BJP Government at the Centre has not been working sincerely to bring an end to the Manipur crisis and restore peace in the State but is focusing on winning more votes in the next Lok Sabha election.
CPI State Council held a meeting at the Irabot Bhavan here today and deliberated on the State's prevailing situation.
Briefing media persons after the meeting, CPI National Control Commission member Dr M Nara pointed out that thousands of people whose houses have been burnt down in the violent crisis are now facing extreme misery at relief camps.

Meitei women have been fighting the crisis at the forefront.
The crisis has brought out Meitei women's courage, perseverance and sacrificial spirit, he remarked.
He said that CPI honours the valour of Manipur women at the highest level.
The Government of India knows that Myanmar militants who infiltrated into Manipur (India) have a big hand in the months-old violence.
Myanmar militants and Kuki militants based in Manipur ignited the violence by attacking Meitei civilians, Dr Nara said.
He then questioned the Government of India why no concrete action has been initiated against these Kuki militants and their supporters from across the border.
Befitting action should be initiated in accordance with the Manipur Legislative Assembly procedure and the Constitution against the 10 Kuki MLAs who are demanding separate administration, he said.
Maintaining that the Union Home Minister is fully aware of the Manipur situation, Dr Nara asserted that peace still remains elusive and this is a failure of the BJP Government.
Now, people are not sure whether there is a Government led by Chief Minister N Biren in the State or not, Dr Nara remarked.
People no longer trust the BJP Government.
It's time to root out BJP and save the people of Manipur, he said.
CPI Manipur State Council Secretary Leishangthem Thoiren decried that both the BJP Governments of the Centre and the State have failed the lives and properties of citizens in the State.
Citing Union Home Minister Amit Shah's observation that militants who infiltrated into the State from the neighbouring country were largely responsible for the violent crisis, Thoiren asked as to why the Central Government has not been checking infiltration of foreign militants into the State.
