'Steps taken up for resettlement of IDPs'

The government has taken up measures to ensure early return of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Imphal East district to their original homes located in areas in the periphery of Kangpokpi district with deployment of adequate security forces, said Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha.
Speaking as chief guest during the closing ceremony of 15-day Indigenous Martial Art Training Camp organised by Village Volunteer Service, Khundrakpam AC under the aegis of Chief Minister's Indigenous Martial Arts Academy, Manipur at Pukhao Naharup Makha Leikai playground on Monday, MLA Ibomcha pointed out that Meetei community has been taken major role in protecting Manipur from armed Kuki militants.
While contending the people are suffering due to disunity amongst the Meeteis, the MLA reiterated that government will soon facilitate return of IDPs to their homes at Awanglonga Koireng, Keikrupokpi Chingjin and Kompak Yongchang Makhong Chingjin by deploying security personnel in adequate strength.
The programme was also attended by social worker Nongthombam Rajendro as functional president along with Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti Singh, CM Indigenous Martial Arts Academy secretary Ksh Bhakta Meetei, Eastern Thang-Ta Organisation head instructor Nameirakpam Jiban Meetei and Pukhao Naharup Village Development Committee president Moirangthem Nabachandra.
As a part of the programme sponsored by 104 Branch of Awang Pana Thang-Ta Shindam Shang, Pukhao, 37 male and 20 female trainees took oath in the name of Ibudhou Pakhangba.
