Online hiring of weavers facilitated: E Jiten

Imphal, January 13 2024:
A 50-day long training programme on apparel and garment making and power loom weaving organised by the Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles concluded at the Apparel and Garment Making Centre, Lamboi Khongnangkhong on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, joint director E Jiten informed that any entrepreneur wanting to hire talented trainees can do so directly from the website of the department.
He also said that a human resource bank with relevant details will be set up to facilitate the hiring process.
Further informing that the second batch of the training programme is planned for launch next week, he urged all participants not to attend the programme just for the sake of availing stipend benefit but strive to acquire knowledge and apply them to become self-employed.
Meanwhile, the stipend for the concluded training programme will be directly credited into the respective bank accounts of the trainees, he added.
In all, 29 people and another 15 others who attended the apparel and garment making, and power loom weaving training programmes respectively were presented with certificates.
The closing function was also attended by Imphal East District Handlooms and Textiles project manager Y Ashalata and others.
