Govt cancels plan for IRB training in Assam

Imphal, January 13 2024: Chief minister N Biren Singh has said that the government's plan to send newly recruited IRB personnel to Assam for training via road has been cancelled and an alternative arrangement will be made very soon.

In a post on his social media account, N Biren Said that the government's plan to send 10 IRB and 11 IRB personnel recruited recently to Assam for training has been cancelled and special arrangement for the same will be made shortly.

The chief minister's social media post came after families and relatives of the newly recruited IRB personnel expressed strong opposition to the government's plan and staged protest in front of MPTC, Pangei.

Newly recruited IRB personnel had even submitted a memorandum to the government, requesting conduct of the training at Manipur Police Training College (MPTC), Pangei instead of sending them outside the state.

Mention may be made here that the government tried to send the newly recruited IRB personnel to Assam via NH-37 road on Friday evening.
