Kakching, November 17 2023:
Agitated by the false and frivolous allegations being circulated and commented upon about a respected Lamkang woman in the ATSUM WhatsApp group by some of its members, Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) has demanded that the group's members tender apology to Lamkang tribe.
In a condemnation letter made available to the media, NSUC Information Cell said that comments made by the said members namely Kakai Singsit, Thangboi Kipgen, James Doungel, Khaiminlien Doungel and Thangkam Lupheng amount to character assignation of a Naga woman which warrants legal action.
The said members must retract their statements and tender apology to Lamkang tribe in particular and the Nagas in general.
Maintaining that "the union will not tolerate such defamatory acts made by members of a reputed group like ATSUM", NSUC said that comments made by the members without substantiating or corroborating the information only degenerate ATSUM as a student organisation and such statements are uncalled for at this crucial juncture.
If also mentioned that the sentiments of the Nagas of Chandel are hurt by such unwarranted'allegations and irrational comments.
