As the State continues to stay on the boil, humanitarian aid from all quarters still pours in to provide a healing touch to those who have been left homeless in the wake of this violence.
Today, Nawa Marup, Pune distributed stationery items including pen, book, pencil, sketch pen, and sweets to the children staying at the Temporary Shelter Home in Sawombung Block.
JIANA Helping Group Porompat also distributed relief materials to the displaced people taking shelter at the relief camps opened in Wangoo Tera High School, Wangoo Laipham Youth Association and Langmeidong Higher Secondary School on Thursday.
The relief materials included essential food items, baby food supplements, medicines and shawls for displaced women staying in the camps.
Huidrom John Singh, founder of JIANA Foundation, also extended a monetary aid of Rs 10,000 to help the displaced people staying at Wangoo Laipham Youth Association relief camp cultivate mushrooms as a means to generate income.
Authorities of the relief camps have extended their gratitude to JIANA Helping Group for their concern and assistance.
Moreover, in line with the celebration of Children's Day, former students of Expert Boarding Cum Coaching Centre, Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi (class X pass out) along with teachers of the Centre have distributed relief materials at Sunusiphai Primary School relief camp, Kumbi Central High School relief camp and Ithai High School relief camp in Bishnupur districts.
The former students and teachers of Expert Boarding Cum Coaching Centre also had a meal together with the displaced people staying in the camps, said a release.
The Expert Boarding Cum Coaching Centre has also offered to provide a free revision course for Class X examination to the displaced students staying in the camps.
