Imphal, November 17 2023:
Denouncing the declaration made by Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) regarding setting up self-gov-ernment/self-rule in Kuki-Zo areas, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has asserted that it would continue to hght against any attempts to disintegrate Manipur and will never allow ITLF to enforce self-rule in any part of Manipur.
In a release, AMUCO publicity secretary Laishram Krishnachandta Khuman said that the declaration of ITLF will not only strain harmonious relationship among different communities settling in the state but is also an attempt to balkanize Manipur on ethnic lines.
Such declaration will exacerbate the already tense situation and detrimental to efforts for restoring peace and normalcy.
Asserting that there can never be a separate administration in Manipur, he said that every attempt for separate administration will be fought tooth and nail by AMUCO and will protect territory and integrity of Manipur.
Expressing serious concern over the declaration of ITLF, which he opined will affect security of not only Manipur but also of India, Krishnachandra demanded initiation of investigation into the activities of the Forum for taking up appropriate actions.
People of the state as well as the nation should be cautious of Kuki-Zos who are wearing the mask of being an indigenous tribe of Manipur but advocating secessionism.
As the sinister attempts to realise such lofty dreams propagated by the forum and group led to the turmoil in the state, every community residing harmoniously in the state should fight against such ill-conceived ideas while there is still time, he maintained.
Further stating that claim of Kuki-Zo people as indigenous tribe and their demand for a separate administration solely based on ethnicity underscore their disregard of other communities in the state, the secretary reminded all concerned that the Kuki-Zo people have even succeeded in evicting major communities like Meitei and Nagas when they can't put them under their control in their area and openly showed their attitude of belittling small communities.
The areas claimed by Kuki-Zo as their places in a map of Manipur openly challenge the indigenous tribals residing in the area, he contended, while affirming AMUCO's stand against separate administration in Manipur.
Demanding the state and central governments to neutralise such movements based on ethnicity in time so as to ensure peace and development, Krishnachandra called for pulling up leaders of ITLF as the declaration for selfrule is a serious threat not only to Manipur but also to India.
Stressing the need on the part of people to critically analyse the situation and comprehend the hidden agenda behind ITLF's declaration for self-rule and demand for a separate administration, he observed that such acts are being committed to pave way for in Kuki-Zo...
settlement of illegal Kuki-Zo immigrants, who fled from Myanmar due to the unrest in their country, in Manipur.
These illegal immigrants from Myanmar will be utilised in poppy cultivation and given training to wage war against Meetei and will form Kuki-Zo villages, the secretary opined.
There is no meaning of having state and central governments if they cannot take action against ITLF, he contended, while stating that it is time to ponder and analyse whether ITLF has taken the stand of self-rule after communicating with the central government.
There must be some hidden agenda of the central government as the unrest continues in the state and Kuki-Zo terrorist are being spared even though their actions pose threat to the security of India, Krishnachandra remarked.
