"Minungshi", "Ee-Yum" tell the story of displaced

Two documentary films "Minungshi" and "Ee-Yum" based on the stories of people taking refuge in their own State were released today.
Both the documentaries were filmed by the Mass Communication students of Manipur University (MU) and 25 minute long.
The documentary films were released during a programme held at the seminar hall of Mass Communication, MU under the theme "Many voices, many worlds".
Film-makers of Minugshi : Ningthoujam Hemchand Meitei, Langoijam Sunindro Singh, Laishram Sanjeet Mayengbam Bidyashwor Singh, Ningthoujam Sagar Singh, Rajkumari Lonna and Mingyashin Shaiza.
Film-makers of Ee-Yum: Babloo Konsam, Roneld Yumnam, Eureka Yurembam, CM Soripem, Langlen Mayengbam, Ringnim Kingdang and Khwairakpam Sunaina Devi.
While Minugshi centres around the ordeals of pregnant women at relief camps who are struggling to overcome the trauma they had undergone, Ee-Yum conveys the longiness of the people at relief camps to return home.
At the function, former class representative of Department of Mass Communication Hemchand Ningthoujam said that over 180 have been killed while thousands have been displaced in the course of the violence which began on May 3.These displaced people including about 400 pregnant women are taking refuge at the relief camps set up by the Government and civil organisation, he said.
He also said that the documentary films are a compilation of video footage taken by the students of MU while visiting different relief camps for two months.
