'The Gift', 'Iron Women of Manipur' selected for Film Bazaar 2023

Lakshmipriya Devi's Manipuri feature film "The Gift" and Haobam Paban Kumar's documentary "Iron Women of Manipur" have been selected for the 17th NFDC Film Bazaar 2023 to be held from November 20 to 24 at Marriott Resort in Gon alongside the 54 International Film Festival of India 2023 .
A release issued by Film Society of Manipur informed that the feature film "The Gift" has been selected in the Work in Progress Lab 2023' along with four other films namely Jayan Cherion's Dammam (Konkani), Suman Mukhopadhyay's Putul Nacher Itikatha (Bengali), Natesh Hegde's Vaghachipani (Kannada/Malayalam) and Grant Alan Davis's Rehearsal for a Funeral (Konkani/English) .
The Work-in-Progress Lab gives selected filmmakers a chance to screen the rough cut of their film to an eminent panel of international advisors that included film festival directors, film critics, producers and editors.
These advisors provide valuable feedback on the edit with the aim of helping the filmmaker achieve an accomplished final cut of the film.
Haobam Paban Kumar's 26 minutes long documentary "Iron Women of Manipur" is among 10 films selected in Film Bazaar Recommends' of the Film Bazaar 2023 .
Those 10 films of Film Bazaar Recommends including features and documentaries were meticulously selected by the Film Bazaar team from over 200 films submitted for the Viewing Room.
The Viewing Room presents films from India and South Asia, which are recently completed or still in post-production, at the Film Bazaar.
These films are looking for film festivals, world sales, distribution partners and also finishing funds.
Among the 10 films; Pulkit Arora's Anu and Chandan Singh Shekhawat's Roti Koon Banasi, Imaad Shah's Tuesday's Women, Manish Saini's Giddh are Fiction Shorts; Nishanth Gurumurthy's Gopi and Haobam Paban Kumar's Iron Women of Manipur are Docu Shorts; Tasmiah Afrin Mou's Where My Grandmother Lives and Shivam Singh Rajput's Ladakh 470 are Docu MidLength; Shamman Roy's The Exile Horror Film and Vaibhav Kumaresh's Return to the Jungle are Animated Feature.
