VC pins hope on NEP transforming MU

Manipur University vice chancellor Professor N Lokendra has expressed confidence that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will help bring positive changes in the education ecosystem of the varsity within the next 5-6 years.
He made the statement while speaking as chief guest of a programme on Viksit Bharat @ 2047, organised jointly by Manipur University Library and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Cell, Manipur University at the conference hall of the varsity on Friday.
Prof Lokendra continued that the youth should take a proactive role in realising PM Narendra Modi's dream of making India a developed nation by 2047.He added that with the implementation of NEP 2020, the education system is now based both on theory and practical, and becoming student-centric, thereby bringing significant positive changes.
Although there will be some challenges in the initial stages, he expressed firm belief that policy will definitely bear fruit after a few years.
The programme was also attended by MU librarian in-charge and EBSB Cell nodal officer Prof Ch Ibohal as president and School of Human & Environmental Science dean Prof S Jibonkumar as guest of honour.
As part of the programme, the dignitaries inaugurated the MU Publication Section, and also released 'Librarianship and Societal Development' and 'Contents of Print Journals (September to December 2023) Volume I & II' .
Later, a symposium on 'Role of Youth for a Developed India-Towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047' was conducted.
