AR takes up community upliftment initiatives

Assam Rifles continues to impact lives in Manipur through its diverse initiatives, from empowering aspiring candidates with coaching and training to promoting sustainable practices like beekeeping, organising sports events and engaging with the youth.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the AR under Inspector General (South) on Thursday carried but an interaction and motivational lecture for aspirants of SSG (GD) and Sainik School who are presently availing coaching of physical and written exam at the Assam Rifles battalion in Kangvai sub-division of Churachandpur district.
The team of AR interacted and motivated the students for their upcoming exam and also briefed them about security, health, education and stress management while preparing for their respective examinations, nuances of the procedure for joining the Indian Armed Forces including physical and academic requirements and the selection process for various types of entries in the Armed Forces.
The release continued that the lecture was followed by an interactive session in which queries raised by the students were answered.
A total of 35 students are being trained at the Assam Rifles Battalion for the upcoming exam.
The PRO also mentioned that in a similar such initiative at HQ Veng village in Churachandpur district, AR is organising coaching classes and training capsule for the upcoming SSC (GD) Constable Recruitment Rally-2024 from Friday to February 5.The training capsule is aimed at providing theory classes and also to impart physical training to the aspirants from remote areas and economically challenged backgrounds.
A total of 93 aspirants including 24 females from 15 villages of Churachandpur district are attending the said coaching classes cum pre recruitment training.
The release further conveyed that AR conducted an awareness drive and conducted informative lecture regarding National Beekeep ing and Honey Mission at Aina village, Churachandpur district on Friday.
The event was aimed at explaining the procedures and various requirements regarding setting up of horticulture production and infrastructural facilities.
They were also briefed regarding the benefits of such development with respect to income generation and employment of local youth.
Approximately 40 people attended the said drive from Aina and adjoining villages, it stated.
The release also informed that AR is folding an Inter-Village Volleyball Tournament at Changpql village, Chandel district from January 4 till 19 to motivate local youth to stay away from the present violence in Manipur and promote sports culture in border villages of the state.
The volleyball matches will be conducted on a daily basis, between team of AR and teams from Zoldam, Changpol, SL Changpol, T Nampao and Khangtung villages, Chandel district.
On Friday, match between T Nampao and Changpol villages was conducted wherein, T Nampao won at 5-0 sets, it mentioned.
Similarly, AR conducted another friendly volleyball match at Suangdoi village, Churachandpur district with the youth of village to engage them in healthy and wholesome activities, the PRO added.
