BSF ensures peace, harmony anywhere: ADG Sonali

BSF Eastern Command additional director general (ADG) Sonali Mishra (IPS) has said that Border Security Force (BSF) prioritises peace and harmony in fair manner anywhere the force is deployed and extends help to local population whenever required.
Sonali Mishra told this correspondent on the sidelines of the STC/BSF Attestation Parade for 136 BSF constables held on Friday at Subsidiary Training Centre (STC/BSF), Churachandpur on Friday that the sole aim of BSF is to guard the borders.
However, additional BSF personnel have been deployed in the state to maintain law and order and serve the people.
She said that 79 companies of BSF are currently deployed in nine districts of the state under the overall supervision of the Unified Command headed by the security adviser.
With regard to the STC/BSF, Churachandpur, Sonali said that all the basic facilities are already in place at the centre but the main problem is bad weather.
While announcing that infrastructures at the centre would be upgraded soon, the ADG conveyed that training instructors posted at the centre are well qualified and the best of the grading.
There is also proposal for compound wall upgradation while training structures of new recruits is under process.
With regard to the aborted plan to construct a jail in the STC premises, Sonali said that the STC is a training institute and has got its own ethos and the plan was for temporary.
In the attestation parade, Sonali took the salute from the marching contingent as chief guest.
The attestation parade of 136 recruits Batch No.242 held at Satish Chandra Parade ground of STC was also attended by STC/BSF IG Akhileshwar Singh, CI of STC/BSF Churachandpur commandant Vishal Rane and other prominent personalities from Churachandpur, officers and school kids.
