TA&H issues notice on pending bio-authentication

Imphal, January 05 2024: Pursuant to the department's earlier notification dated December 19, 2023, the Directorate of Tribal Affairs and Hills has issued a fresh notification for speeding up the Bio-authentication process for several districts.

In the fresh notification issued Thursday, the directorate said that certain districts have not yet deputed their District Nodal Officers (DNOs) concerned for the Bio-authentication process.

The districts in question are Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal West, Jiribam, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal.

The notification informed respective Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) of the districts that the bio-authentication process for the remaining DNOs is scheduled to take place on January 8, 2024, at 11 AM in the conference hall of the directorate at Babupara.

All ZEOs are instructed to ensure the prompt deputation of their respective DNOs on the specified date and time.

The deputed DNOs must be accompanied by a copy of their Aadhaar card and two recent passport-sized photographs.

It is imperative to note that the completion of the bio-authentication process is mandatory for all DNOs/INOs to undertake the verification process of both Pre & Post-Matric ST scholarships over the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for the year 2023-24, as per the instructions from the Ministry.

For the purpose of bio-authentication, the DNOs of each district for Pre-matric ST scholarship are also required to initiate the No-Authentication process for all the INOs/HIs falling within their jurisdictions, for both Pre & Post-Matric scholarship schemes.

The ZEOs and DNOs concerned shall be responsible for any complaints or complications arising due to non-completion of the bio-authentication process, the notification added.
