MPCC distributes of relief items, seeks date with PM

Manipur Pradesh Congress Commit-tee (MPCC) has started distribution of relief materials to people affected by the violence and seeking appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
MPCC distributed relief materials at dif-ferent relief camps opened in Khundrakpam AC including the one at incumbent MLA Th Lokeswar's residence and at Phayeng in Imphal West district on Saturday.
After distributing the relief materials MPCC president K Meghachandra said the party has sanctioned Rs 31 lakh for providing relief materials to violence affected people of both hills and valley.
The relief materials will be distributed by party's MLAs, office bearers and youth wing leaders.
The responsibility for distribution of relief materials in the hill areas had been entrusted to Manga Vaiphei, he added.
Terming as unfortunate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence over the violence in Manipur, K Meghachandra said 10 political parties having common interest with Congress party has sought appointment with PM and sent a letter.
According to K Meghachandra, 10 political parties demand a special session of Mani-pur Legislative Assembly for restoring peace and normalcy in the state as the parties felt that it is necessary for legislators to discuss the present crisis in the assembly and take a collective decision.
He also said that ruling parties never encouraged the proposal for appointment with PM and accordingly decided to seek appointment without ruling parties.
