Protest meets continue under AMUCO

Hundreds came out with "No Separate Administration in Manipur" call under the aegis of the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) today.
The localities, where protests and discussion on the prevailing situation, were held today as a part of the AMUCO's movement are Langthabal Khoupum; Ibudhou Pakhangba community hall, Langthabal Kunja; Lilong Keithel, Lilong Konung Lampak ; Andro Kangjeibung; Thambalnu Keithel; Yambem Laimang community hall; Huikap Mayai Leikai community hall; Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai; Thangjam Leikai, Poirei Khongjil community hall; Samurou Keithel; Top Chingtha Pukhri Achouba Mapal; Thongkhong Lakshmi Bazar; Thiyam Leishangkhong Kabui; Oinam Saombung etc.
Former president of AMUCO, Ito Tongbram; advisor of AMUCO, Y Mani Khuman; president of AMUCO, Ph Nando Luwang; president of Poirei Leimarol Apunba Meira Paibi Manipur, L Memchoubi; chairman of COHR, Phulindro Konsam; president of Irabot Foundation, Kh Gopen; advisor of AMAWOVA, Ch Usharani; president of AMAWOVA, Y Kunjarani; vice president of AMUCO, K Helen; secretary general of AMUCO, Dr Norendro Thokchom; president of AMESCO, Ibotombi; secretary publicity of AMESCO, Deepu Wangkhem; president of YOFFS Meghachandra; secretary of YOFFS, Kh Ramananda and various others spoke at the discussion cum protest meets held at different localities, said AMUCO in a statement.
During the protest meets, the protesters demanded expeditious rehabilitation measures, provision for security, demilitarization in Manipur, abrogation of SoO pact with Kuki militants, it said.
Slogans including "Stop playing communal card", "Flush out Kuki terrorists'', "Heed people's sentiment", "Show Authority (to State Government)", "No Separate Administration" etc were also raised during the protests, it said.
The meets also condemned how Meiteis are being dragged to the path of violence by Kuki 'terrorists' who keep raiding and razing down Meitei settlements repeatedly taking advantage of sparse population and riding on their superior weapons, it said.
The speakers also highlighted how the innocent Kukis are being misled and kept in the dark by these terrorists driven by an elusive dream and their acts which have affected many communities, it said.
The speakers also pointed out that the Government of India should be held responsible for the consequences while raising voices against the call of separate administration and move to disintegrate the State, it added.
